My Brother has a warrant for not going to a DUI hearing in Phila, PA. He lives in NJ. If he comes into contact with Law Enforcement in NJ will he be arrested and extradited? Would this situation not be important enough to justify the money involved? He has no criminal history

He will almost certainly be arrested. Whether or not he is extradited is up to county in which his case is filed. It is their decision whether to spend the money to pick him up. If they choose not to, the warrant will not go away. He will simply be arrested over and over (and held for a week or so each time) until he takes care of the case. Obviously, he needs to hire an attorney who practices in the county in which the case is filed.

He could be extradited since dui is a crime in Pa. He should retain a Philadelphia criminal defense attorney to get the warrant lifted and defend the case. He may qualfiy for ARD, a diversionary program that could keep him from a permanent criminal record.
