Will I have to keep son from sports/extra curricular activities to honor the summer visitation schedule?

I share joint legal custody of my son with my ex-husband who lives out of town, with myself having paramount physical custody. Per papers, ex gets summer visitation of first 3 weeks in June & the first 2 weeks in July with son. Now that son is nine years old, he wants to play summer league baseball here in town. The baseball schedule/practices will however interfere with the June visitation thus requiring him to be here in June. How will this affect future summer activities? Will I have to keep him from sports/extra curricular activities to honor the summer visitation schedule?

You should speak to the father on how best to handle this. Let him know your son wants to play. Perhaps there is a compromise...Typically you have to adhere to the schedule. You should contact your divorce attorney too. Acting now my head off a showdown this summer.
