Will small claim court for car accident show on employment background check?
Anonymous6 views4 answers
I was involved in a car accident, my car insurance decided not to pay for the other party because they said it was not really my fault, the other party hired a lawyer the third time, and this time they sued me directly, I turned this case to my car insurance and their lawyer took care of it, later we had a meeting between the two lawyers and a retired judge (there is a word for it but I don't remember what is was) and the judge asked my insurance company pay for the other party a certain amount. A few weeks later, the insurance companay's lawyer called me up and told me that the case is now dissmissed, My question is, will this be showed up if the employer do a background check?
Thank you.
The answer depends on several factors: one would be the type of job you are applying for. The other would be the extent of a background check your potential employer is running. If the employer is looking for any lawsuits either you filed or filed against you, this matter would show up (you stated you were personally sued and you attended a "Mediation".) If you are applying for a job as a driver, they may want to know about your driving record.
Good luck with the job search.
