If I am behind in child support can child support garnished my bank account without me knowing?

Child support took all the money I had to pay rent and my next months child support from my bank account. Do they have to serve me with any papers to say they are going to do this? Because they took what little money I had and left me with 0 balance I will now loose my place where I am living and wont be able to pay for next months support. Without a place to live means I will loose my job. I only make around $1000 a month but the court imputed 1,500. I been making monthly payments but do owe back payments which I been trying to pay. Is there a place I can go to get help I dont want to be out living on the streets and loose my job.

Each month you fail to pay child support, the amount you owe becomes a Judgment against you. When there is a Judgment, the State is able to garnish your bank account without notice.

You should contact DCS and speak with the assigned case worker. I know that this is a frustrating experience, but if you work at it you can usually work something out with DCS that you can live with. The sooner you address the issue, the quicker you can stop the garnishments.
