He is likely to face murder charges with the 25-life gun enhancement (Penal Code 12022.53). That carries 50 to life. Depending on the facts, he could end up doing all of that, get it reduced to manslaughter or walk away if found not guilty. Needless to say, he needs the best criminal defense attorney he can get.

Obviously these are very serious charges and he is facing a potential life in prison sentence. There may be some mitigating factors and with the assistance of a competent defense attorney hopefully his prison exposure could be minimized. I strongly suggest you contact and hire the best attorney that you can afford. http://lawofficeofwilliamdaley.com/san-diego-criminal-attorney/murder

This is the classic case of manslaughter and the max would be 10 years plus the gun enhancement. However, if the prosecution can prove that he suspect actually knew of the relationship then it could be raised to first degree murder.

There is no confidentiality online. Volunteering to answer this question does not create an attorney-client relationship. The accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. The likelihood of a positive outcome- exoneration or a mitigated sentence- is increased with the help of an experienced criminal litigator. Seek out an experienced criminal litigator for a free consultation. If you cannot find one on , search at the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL.org) Speak to several attorneys and hire the one that makes you feel confident and comfortable. Depending on the other circumstances, anything from a very short county-jail term, up to and including the death penalty for first-degree premeditated murder. He needs the best defense attorney he can afford.
