3RD DUI, sentenced to 5 months

7 views 3 answers
My girlfriend is in the Milwaukee Wi House Of Corrections for 5 months. She was moved from a general dorm to a work release dorm today even though she is not on work release. She was being told by guards that when this happens she will most likely be released to house arrest on electronic monitoring for the remainder of her time. She also was told 2 different release dates by different guards. Is there anyway to clarify any of this information because it seems that she gets a different answer depending on who she asks. Her public defender is not returning phone calls. Thanks for your time.

You can call Corrections and ask what her release date is as that is public information. Good luck.

Sometimes sentences are modified at the jail due to space limitations, so it is possible that her sentence is being modified after the fact to include house arrest. It's also very common for jail staff to give out conflicting information. You probably won't know what's going on for sure until it actually happens, but you could certainly contact the jail about it to see what they can tell you.

I agree with both of my colleagues. You can contact the jail for the information but that date can change. At least you can get a rough idea of what to expect but you won't know for sure until she actually is released. Good luck.
