I was involved in a hit and run accident in 2002, before there was no statute of Limitations in IL. Do I still have a case?

I recently identified the person who hit me. Can I still take it to court?

Not unless you were 10 years old at the time.

Nope. Unless you were under some disability or minority, you'd have 2 years from either the date of incident or from date the minority or disability was removed, to file suit and/or appropriate UM claim. As Mr. Younes said, unless you were 10 years old at the time, you'd be long past the time limit by now. Sorry. Stephen L. Hoffman Law Office of Stephen L.
