Boating ticket on Beaver Lake Rogers Ar

Business 9 views 3 answers
I took my kids out on the jet ski. I was in a no boating zone thinking it was no wake zone. Arkansas Game and Fish officers gave me a citation for code 37.04. I called Rogers court where I have to appear. They told me I will have to pay $220.00. AG&F guide book says fine not to exceed $50.00. Court says the ticket is $120.00 and court cost is $100.00. Obviously I think this is way to much for something of this nature. Please advise ?

Though seemingly maritime/admiralty law in nature, you would be well advised to contact any attorney that handles speeding tickets/traffic tickets/ etc. Presumably, you are being overcharged. Here is the caution, though, you may spend more in legal fees to fight the ticket than the ticket is worth. Keep this in mind. So, for $70, is it worth it?

I agree that you should contact a local traffic ticket attorney.

The fine and the court costs are two different things, and you'll probably have to pay both no matter what. I would recommend appearing on your court date and asking the judge why the fine is higher than the AG&F guide book states. It could be a mistake, or the guide book could be outdated, as fine such as this change periodically.
