Will a speeding ticket in New York affect my Rhode Island license and driving privileges?

I am a Rhode Island resident and have my driving license from RI. I got a speeding ticket in New York (91mph in 65mph zone) which is a 6 point violation in the NY state. Will these points in New York affect my license and driving record in Rhode Island? Should I plead guilty and pay the fine or contest it in NY? Will this affect my insurance rates?

Being a 6 point ticket you will pay an additional hidden fee of $300 aside from the Court fine of around $200-$380 for a total of $500 or $685. Therefor, you should find a cheap traffic ticket attorney and fight it even if the points do not transfer.

Rhode Island may have a different point schedule - However, it is likely the states will exchange the information.
