What to do for threats via text over tangible property abandoned for over 4 months at our residence?

We had let a friend with her boyfriend stayed with us. The boyfriend was only with us for about a month (Feb 2013). Since March 2013 has been living in Seattle and been in and out of jail. She is still with us and knows the division of thier tangible property. He started contacting us July 2013 to get his tangible property. My husband & I have been telling him that we are aware of his daughters things, but not some of his things that he's been asking us about. His ex-girlfriend has them and I feel that is between them to figure out. He just texted me with a very threatening message and I'm willing to share it, but first if there is a simple answer since I understand him to say that she won't talk to him so he now blames us for his loss. Very sticky situation and looking at what can be done

It's a little hard to penetrate your question but my answer is the same anyway: if you feel threatened you need to do something about it. That could be the police, or a civil restraining order, or simply informing the person those kinds of actions aren't tolerated. But once threats start flying, and you feel threatened, you should take some action before things get ugly. Good luck.
