Will a misdemeanor violation (1.5 years ago) show up in a background check in a different state?

It was a drunk in public charge which is a misdemeanor offense in the state of California. I have since moved to New York City and am curious if I should be concerned if this will turn up on background checks when I'm applying for jobs. I researched and found out that a drunk in public is not a misdemeanor charge in NY. Can you help?

The short answer is probably. If you were fingerprinted for that case there, it would show up on most background checks if done nationally. If only done locally, it may not. Sincerely, Joseph A. No. If it is not a crime in NY it should have sealed.
