On .com under Find-A-Lawyer enter 'Elder Law' and the name of the city your Dad lives in. Good Luck.

You ask what to expect? Your father has a right to fight the conservatorship, but will he be successful? When a person has been diagnosed with dementia, it is not an all or nothing situation. The question the court will want to have answered is whether or not the level of dementia is such that the person is unable to handle their affairs without the assistance of a court appointed conservator. Your father may believe everything is fine the way things are and that you are just out to take his freedom away and put him in a "home." If your father can persuade another person or family member to take their side in the fight, it can get ugly, but the issue should be what is in his best interest.
