It depends upon your injury and what your doctors say, as well as whether this depression is transitory or longstanding. In a nutshell, comp pays TTD for time off wor resulting from an injury, medical benefits, and a permanency settlement for whatever long term effects result. While PTSD is often seen in comp, depression is not as frequent, so whether the insurer treats this as compensable depends on the carrier and facts. Either way, see a lawyer to evaluate your options. A psychological injury can be every bit as disabling as a physical injury. In order to be compensable under the Workers' Compensation Act, a physician needs to provide an opinion that your employment caused or aggravated the condition. Once that is established, then the claim proceeds as any other case; you need to prove that the condition disables you in some manner at work. You should contact an attorney who concentrates in workers' compensation law to evaluate your medical records and give you direction. Marc B. Very well could. Get a WC attorney in your area to have it evaluated.

The short answer to your question is Whatever your doctor says you need." It is no different from any other injury in that regard. Unless the depression is accompanied by some physical injury, it will be difficult to prove causation. You need a dedicated therapist and an experienced WC attorney to get a fair shake. Good luck.
