Is it possible to get a will without notifying your spouse?

I just want a simple will leaving everything to my husband. We have a house, timeshare condo & vehicles but that is it. Our children are grown. I simply want to ensure if something happens to me everything goes to him.

I am not sure why you don't want your husband to have a Will too. That would make sense to me. But to answer your question, yes, you can have a Will prepared for you without notifying your spouse. However, depending on how you structure the beneficiary designations as to whether your spouse could object to your Will after you are deceased. I suggest that you talk with a local estate planning attorney and see what he/she thinks about how to accomplish your objectives. Best wishes!

I agree with Mr. Smolinski. You both should have estate plans including powers of attorney and an advance health care directive for medical and end of life decisions. Setting that aside, you can do a will without notifying your husband or providing him a copy. Just make sure it is kept somewhere that can be found if you die.

Yes-but use this as an encouragement for him to do the same.
