I am an army wife who cannot find my husband form my green card renewal.

Green Cards 8 views 3 answers
Hi, my husband and i have been married in 2008 in Kentucky.I have been living in new york for the past few years working. I received my 2 year green card in 2010 which expired in 2012. Shortly before my card's expiration date I was informed by my husband that he was seeing someone else and that she was with-child. He changed his phone number and apparently relocated to another state. I received a phone call about a few months ago apologizing and also stating that he was going to be deployed again. Since then his phone # changed and I have no other form of contact. What should I do?

I suggest you contact an attorney ASAP to assist you in the process. Assuming this is a bono fide marriage and you can prove as such then you do have options available to you

Your green card expired a year ago. Your case is complicated in many respects, seek the help of an attorney.

Talk to a divorce and immigration lawyer. It is tricky, but possible to divorce someone that is in the service. As for immigration, you'll need to give them a good reason for filing late .... and convincing them that the marriage was 'real' at the time you filed the immigration papers in 2010.
