end of September the leasing co made an agreement with her on a month to month lease now I just received a call from a Collection Co stating they put a judgement against me for back rent and damages occurred after September 2011 they are telling me that I am responsible for this money is this true?

If it was a month to month extension of the written lease which you co-signed, you could be on the hook. But you need to let a lawyer read the lease language regarding the co-signer.

I agree with Mr Rensch and would add that I am concerned they say they have a judgment against you. That would have required them to have filed a lawsuit against you and to have served you with a summons and complaint. Did you receive those and not answer, or are they misleading you about the judgment? Public record should be reviewed as well as the lease. Good luck.
