Our case has been in Administrative processing more than a year after visa interview for green card, can we speed it up?

We applied for green card for both my mom and dad. It has been more than a year since they had gone for the interview at American Embassy in Pakistan. They were told only thing was left administrative processing. After repeatedly trying to find out status we did not get any response from the embassy. We then contacted our local congressman and they wrote to the embassy. We were told that my dad's case has been cleared in AP but mom is still processing. Is there anything we can do to speed up this process? Would writing a letter to senator help or can we go to court? Anything else we can do?

It's possible to go to court but it will be difficult. We would need detailed facts on any possible issues with background check.

Usually not much can be done regarding administrative proceedings. You've done the right thing with congressional inquiries.

Yes, there is something you can do. It is not correct that there is nothing you can do. Often, involving an attorney helps a big time, because the cases often just got forgotten or an attorney helps to resolve some issues. Find a good lawyer to help you.
