Suspending prosecution is what is also known as "diversion." TASC is used for treating drug offenders as part of that diversion program (drug testing, classes, etc.). If one successfully completes diversion because the actual prosecution was "suspended" the case is dismissed. In the same vein if one is unsuccessful prosecution can be started up again and result in a disposition of guilt with all the penalties that go with that.

TASC is a great intervention program for 1st time offenders. Hopefully the person to whom this Minute Entry refers to will take the program seriously and complete it. It's going to be their one chance to clean up their act and get on track to a no-conviction future.
