Do you already have an attorney? Which county are we talking about? Sometimes it's possible to sign the reset form prior to the court date, but it all depends on the court.
Of course you can reschedule the burial date. It may also be possible to get another court date. Policies vary from court to court. Many times it is possible to reschedule, but the sooner you try to get this done, the better chances you have.
Good Luck
You should be in the process of hiring a lawyer now. Once hired, the lawyer can reset your case off docket for you. (Some judges require a signature of the client so be sure to let the lawyer know when you meet with them in their office so they can get your signature on a reset document.)
