What happens when father is caught lying about his income for the last 6 years to avoid paying a higher child support?

Father is a partner in a medical practice and I just found out that he has been lying about his income for 6 years. He always claims that is on the verge of bankruptcy, liens on his house and he barely can pay his bills. He was just in court and admitted that his salary is $250,000 a year and he had told me he made $70,000.

I agree with Mr. Zerillo. If he has made false representations to the court, or failed to accurately report his income, you may be able to obtain an order retroactive to when he started misrepresenting the income. However, it's also clear to me that you should retain an attorney to review the records of the hearings and the evidence presented as well as to present your case in court. This is trying not a DIY situation. Knowledge of the law is needed in this case.

Since Pennsylvania support rules require a party under an existing order to report increases in income to DRO you may have a claim for retroactive modification of the existing order if there was one.It is generally an unusual occurrence but here it looks to be a substantial misrepresentation. There is appellate case law on the issue that may be useful to you.You should contact an experienced family lawyer to more fully investigate your options.
