Police officers eventually said they were sent to our house by my nephews P.O. But he doesn't have a P.O. Are they allowed to do a probation search themselves without a P.O. present and with no arrest warrant? My nephew wasn't even at home during the search.

If he agreed to a search term as part of probation and he lives there, then yeah, they could legally search the house. They're only supposed to search common areas and areas under his control.
