Holdover proceedings, need a very street-smart lawyer.

Asked for an adjournment in court (first time) ended up with a judgment to pay 1 month's rent, AND to file an answer 2 weeks after the first appearance giving my landlord time to defend himself. What can I do to not pay the rent, as I have claims against it? The Judgment is in notes only, not computer. Judgments when asking to seek an attorney are against the law, but I can't say that to the the judge, what should I do?

You are asking for specific legal advice in an active litigation. We are not allowed to give you this type of advice on ; and you would be hard pressed to find this advice from a reputable lawyer for free anyway. You need to find an experienced landlord tenant attorney and retain them.

There is a tenant help desk at most of the landlord/tenant courts and you should see someone there immediately.
