My child's mother in California didn't pay for her half of the child's ticket. Can I file for contempt of court?

Also, if we mutually agreed to let me have my son a few days longer than ordered in the court papers can she use that against me at any point saying it's a violation of the court order? Thanks

Yes you can file a show cause asking the court to hold her in contempt for not paying as ordered. Yes, she could do the same. I recommend confirmation in writing regarding her agreement to extended the visitation period.

If the child's mother is obligated to pay for half the ticket and did not then that is a willful violation of a court order and you could file a contempt. Any time you change the parenting arrangement for any reason, be sure to get it in writing so there is a paper trail. n

If the court ordered both parents to contribute to the child's ticket, then a show cause can be issued if one parent refuses to abide by the order. As to your second point, you are allowed to enter into agreements outside the order. Under the facts your present, your ex could file a show cause for the extended visitation, but you would have a defense to present to the court - the mutual agreement. Good luck.
