to the grand jury is this my trial date talked about everything with my public defender he isn't giving me straight answers he all he said was show up for court so question is this my trial or just a arraignment on new charge I was direct indicted on
Your question is not very clear. Have you been indicted yet or have you just been told you are being indicted? Did you have a preliminary hearing or did you waive the hearing?
If you have yet to be indicted, your next court date is most likely term day. At term day, your attorney will set your case for a plea or for trial, depending on what you want. Once it is set for trial, your attorney will file for discovery and prepare for trial. There are decisions you and your attorney must make, such as whether you want a jury trial or a bench trial and whether or not you want to testify. Hopefully this explanation answers your questions.
Your question is not very clear. You seem to be asking about the process following a direct indictment - which is a term of art generally understood to mean the case is presented directly to the Grand Jury and the case starts in Circuit Court, as opposed to being arrested on a warrant and the case starting in General District Court. However, if this is what happened and you have not yet gone to Circuit Court to receive the indictments, you wouldn't have a Public Defender representing you.
If you have a Public Defender representing you on these charges, that means you have already been to court and the Judge appointed the Public Defender, so you must have been arrested on a warrant and been through some sort of process in the General District Court.
You need to be more clear with your factual recitation so we can try to be more helpful with our responses.
Best of luck to you.
