Is a residential cleaning service home based business required to pay sales tax in Atlanta, GA Fulton County?

I have a residential cleaning service business I started and I'm trying to find out if I have to pay sales tax from the homes I clean? Someone told me that I don't and I can't find the information I'm looking for on the Dept. of Revenue website. I got the paperwork from them telling me to file although their website is very confusing and not user friendly as it relates to researching for the information I need. So can someone please tell me if I should be charging sales tax and paying it to the state quarterly? I do not sell any products. I just clean homes.
In Georgia, you do not have to collect sales taxes on providing a cleaning service. Sales tax in Georgia is imposed on the "transfer of tangible personal property." Unless you are also selling products with your cleaning service, you do not collect sales taxes.
If you are using supplies to clean homes, that is not the "transfer" of tangible personal property. You must pay sales tax on them when you buy them, but they are not taxable to your customers.
Mr. Bozof is right on. His answer should take care of you. If in doubt you can call the Dept of Revenue making sure you document who you speak to. Sometimes the simplest things are difficult to find on a website and a phone call will take care of it.
