Can I get some advice on what specifically constitutes for F1 OPT student's job being directly related to their major?

I plan to travel in August ( after graduating with a Bachelors in Business Administration, major in finance). I will come back to start my OPT in October with a job offer/letter in a real-estate consulting/marketing position and obviously my EAD card, visa, etc. I am just curious how in depth do the officers attack you on your job being "directly related" for example, as finance major, you must be in investment banking, financial analyst, etc? or are roles in general business administration with some finance aspects and duties accepted as the norm? Thank you all for your help!

A reasonable co-relationship between your coursework and job duties should be sufficient to establish that you intend to work/gain practical experience in the area related to field of your study. For example: A law student on OPT should not become a broker/agent in a real estate company selling houses etc., but definitely can review their contracts, work as in-house counsel, take care of legal matters, etc. It is not always "who you work for", but "what job duties you are performing". Position should be a genuine position. Same analysis goes for finance majors.
