I received botched dental care, and as a result I am now undergoing massive dental treatment by another dentist.

My cheek was sewn to my gum and as a result i encountered a major infection requiring the gum to be cut open. I need several root canals to save my teeth, because she drilled down to the nerve of the tooth and i am only 25 years old. I went back to the dentist who preformed the original work several times and she kept telling me I was fine, but I knew I was not. After seeking the care of a different dentist, I was told that the previous work done on me was horrible. Do I have a lawsuit against this dentist? I will max out my insurance before all the work can be complete, and I will have to wait until next year before I am completely well again, all the while living with constant pain in my mouth. I have had to miss work, turn down opportunities for traveling, and much more,j can you help?

You may have a case against your dentist but you need to meet with a lawyer to discuss your options. Keep in mind that malpractice cases are expensive because of the need to retain another dentist that will be willing to opine that your dentist deviated from the standard of care and that deviation caused you an injury. Thus you have to have a claim of sufficient value in order to make it economically feasible to proceed. You may have difficulty meeting that threshold. Thus you need to meet with a lawyer.
