I hired a lawyer for I-360 and AOS together but he doesn't want to show my full legal file and says that I should trust him

He is getting ready to file soon in a week or two. I worked on my personal declaration and other related paperwork because its about me obviously. But, I still want to see my full file including all forms and cover letter and everything that would be going to Vermont Center. I really don't want to spoil my reputation with him because he can mess up my case. So, how do I ask my full file assertively without sounding rude? A friend of mine said that lawyer may not want to share file with me because he fears that I may further share that file with someone and her style of filing can be used by other people and affect his business. All in all, I want to see my whole file to verify factual discrepancies that might bring RFE or weaken the case, if you know what I mean.

^^^^ You need to verify, double check and sign everything before he files (please don't tell us that you signed all the forms and they were in blank). Now, that does not include the evidence and or exhibits ---those need no signature BUT you can request a copy of the index including the documents he/she plans to send and/or a personal screening of the whole package after it's assembled and before it's sent and/or an exact copy of what was sent. It is your file. It is your right. It is not rude. Good Luck

Well, first you will need to SIGN the filing and no lawyer I know would want you to sign it without reviewing it. In fact, I require it since if something is wrong, I want you to catch it so I can correct it before it is filed. You can ask for a copy of your entire file. The attorney can charge you a copying fee and it may take a day of so before it is available for pickup, but you can get a copy of it. In some states, a lawyer may retain the file if you owe money but even then there are limits on that.
