I got issued a Transit Adjudication Bureau Yellow Slip ("notice of violation and hearing") for "entering without payment" on the New York Subway. I was asked to mail $100 to the TAB or ask for a hearing 1) The officer told me this was "an administrative summons" and not a big deal. Will this ever be part of any record (criminal or otherwise)? What are some potential consequences? 2) Is this something I would have to disclose to employers, etc. in the future?

This is civil so it will not give you a record and you do not have to disclose it to employers. You got very lucky because you could have been arrested and spent a night in jail. Pay your subway in the future.

This is a minor ticket. My advice is to pay it. We have represented clients who insist on fighting these tickets, but it really adds a fair amount of expense to you. It is much cheaper to just pay the fare. There will not be a record. You do not have to report this to employers.
