The certification form sometimes takes a long time - law enforcement sign it at their discretion. Often it is a low priority for them. Since you have an attorney, other attorneys are not allowed to give you possibly conflicting advice. Presumably your attorney did help you with this form and checked to make sure it was ok. I am undecided on whether it is best for the attorney or the client to put pressure on law enforcement for this. You are a sympathetic person - the victim. Lawyers can be annoying and pushy - that's our job. Some localities have a victim support person in the sheriff's office or the DA's office - that might be the person you should reach out to, to see what the status of the certification is. It is not unusual for it to take months. You just want to be sure it hasn't gotten lost. Good luck.

You should clarify with your attorney what you hired her to do (and clarify that she is in fact a licensed attorney). Commonly the attorney will prepare the form and contact law enforcement to have it certified on your behalf. However, your attorney may have a different practice.
