Do I have grounds for a lawsuit

Business 5 views 3 answers
I found feces on a towel that the hotel gave me ... I found the feces while drying off and noticing a sickening smell. I am now sick and have been to the clinic twice since that day. I am a Soldier and am staying at the hotel while on duty. I reported it to the hotel (Sheraton) and the manager nor GM has done anything about it nor contacted me and even rendor an apology.

Call Sheraton's corporate office's customer service. Someone needs to address your concerns! If your current sickness is being caused by something you came into contact with in the room, then yes, you have grounds for a lawsuit.

I am so sorry --I can't even imagine!! Have your doctors run some tests that may or not associate your symptoms with b/in contact with feces. Once you get better, gather all the information --the tests, pictures (if you have), letters sent to hotel (and or emails) and any other info and meet with an attorney. It is possible that you have an action against the hotel...but, there are certain pieces that need to be in place, the most important one: the nexus (link or relation) between the feces and your health. Also, do not expect an apology and or a reaction from the hotel as they might see it as an acknowledgement of fault. Do not worry about that, get better and lawyer up. Good Luck.

You may have if your sickness is the result of exposure to bacteria or other infectious agents in the feces. The physicians would have to relate your sickness to the exposure. It is likely that the hotel may want to resolve this claim without you having to file a lawsuit as it seems as the injuries were minor in nature and the hotel has incentive to resolve it. Speak to a personal injury attorney in your area.
