How do I collect diminished value for a leased vehicle that was involved with a State of NJ owned vehicle?

NJ Turnpike Authority vehicle hit my leased car. NJ State driver at fault. Damages approx. $8000. According to my insurance company Title 59 forbids them from recovering any damages to my car from a Gov't agency. I'm concerned about being penalized for excess wear and tear by the dealer when vehicle is turned in at the end of the lease due to the accident. Also I'm out my $500 deductible as well as 20% of the car rental while my vehicle is being repaired. I'm also concerned that since my insurance company has to lay out $ to fix my car and can't recover from the State of NJ my rates will go up.

Insurance company is correct. I understand your concerns, but New Jersey's Tort Claims Act exists to protect the State and other public entities.

All possibilities. You can take solace in paying aobut 2 cents less a year in income and property taxes.
