I got a reckless driving ticket in Prince William county. 86/65. Do I absolutely need an attorney given the details?

The officer stated 70 something when he stopped me, I have two witnesses. am a +5 driver. I got my speedometer tested after the ticket and as it turns out it is 4 mph off. Even if his "86" second speed is correct it'll be 82.

Get an attorney and let that person anticipate the clever arguments.

Get an attorney. PWC does traffic school for dismissal in certain cases and your calibration will help with convincing a prosecutor or judge to agree to it.

Dear Falls Church - I suggest that you get a lawyer to assist you in this so that things do not "go south" when you go to court. Reckless driving is a class one misdemeanor - it is too serious a consequence to take lightly.

If you have a perfect driving history then you may be fine without an attorney in PWC. Perfect means a natural +5 if licensed in Virginia or no tickets appearing for at least 5 years if licensed in another state. I'm happy to walk you through the process if you call my office for a free consultation.
