My EAD card was returned to USCIS "address undeliverable." How long before I get another?

Due to a change of address taking effect at just the wrong moment, my EAD card was reported undeliverable on Saturday. I sent an online request to the PO explaining the error and asking them to redeliver to my new address but in case it gets returned to USCIS, what will happen? Will I have to reapply or will USCIS resend the card to my updated address? This process has already taken months. I desperately need to start working soon and am very worried about time frames.

By this time, PO has either sent you the document to your new address or returned it to sender, but you should contact them and find out anyway before going to next step. If the document has already been sent back, or you can't find out if it has, go immediately to the USCIS office handling your case and explain your situation. Bring a copy of your change of address if you have it, and/or proof that you filed it diligently.

I suggest that you personally go to the post office to discuss the issue and find out where the card is. If it has been returned to USCIS, you should contact USCIS customer service right away for help. Their number is (800) 375-5283.

Sorry to hear about this. It may take another 90 days.
