I have moved from the city that we used to live in and its been a few months since I divorced with my ex and have re-married since. But she goes around with my last name still and tells people that she is just separated and not divorced, even though it was done and finalized. I want to take out an announcement in local newspaper that she is not my wife and we are divorced even though she uses my last name. Any advice?
She can still legally use your name. I'm not sure of the benefit of taking out an advertisement, but I guess you could if you wanted to. The fact of your divorce is a public record.
If her name was changed in the divorce decree, you can insist she stop using your name. Otherwise, know that the people who need to know your marital status already do, and the people who don't know probably don't really matter.
