I was fired with no real answer as to why. The company has provided false information to have my claim for unemployment denied.

I received notice today my claim was denied due to intentional poor performance. On the paperwork sent they say I only worked for them since April. I was employed by this company since 2008. I started out an hourly entry position and was promoted to general manager 2.5 yrs ago. This spring I was transferred to another property in the company and told it was a promotion. I have had no write ups or written evaluations. The company sent in false write ups that contain neither my nor my supervisor's signatures, claiming I have been a problem for the duration of my employment. Do they have to provide proof they did make me aware of the issues and they were not fabricated after the fact? They made it seem as if I were new and incompetent by leaving out information of my employment length.

You can appeal the denial of unemployment benefits to the Arkansas Appeals Tribunal. A telephone hearing will be scheduled with a hearing officer, and both you and your employer will be given the opportunity to tell your side of the story. As far as your termination, your employer has the right to terminate you even without cause. However, if you feel you've been discriminated against based on race, gender, age, disability, etc., I recommend contacting your local EEOC office and filing a complaint.
