Will/when will I be drug tested on court supervision? (DeKalb county)

Criminal Defense 5 views 4 answers
I was arrested August 4th 2014 for posession of a cannabis pipe. (A chilling if that matters) My court date is September 30th. I talked to my lawyer about what will happen and he mentioned me taking a drug class and plea bargaining for court supervision. Will they tell me if I have to take random drug tests? How does the drug testing process work in the court system of DeKalb county?

Your lawyer will explain that to you. I can tell what you're thinking. Don't do it. It will blow up in your face.

First of all, you do have a retained or appointed counsel of record who should provide any clarifications on your pending case. Secondly, do not even think about trying to beat the system by thinking that you could be ordered random drug testing and you would be using drugs. That will be a certain way to get your case exponentially more complex with a good possibility of jail time.

All questions should be asked of your attorney, It is improper and unethical for us to answer questions for someone who is already represented. Besides, your attorney has all the facts and we do nor.

On a paraphernalia plea in that county you'll have mandatory testing w that disposition. Now, I've experienced most probation departments not even testing someone on the first day if the person admits they recently used, that being said you shouldn't become the exception to the rule so if you're clean now don't shoot yourself in the foot and drop dirty.
