Can i apply for change my status on B2?
My J1 visa and DS2019 has expired on 31 August, 2014.

In my experience COS from a J-1 to a B-2 is very difficult to justify.

You cannot change status if you are not presently in valid status. Also, J visas sometimes have a 2-year home residency requirement. Consult an immigration attorney in your area

If you are subject to the foreign 2year residency requirement , you will not be able to adjust to the B-1/B-2 status.
