Hello, will I have a chance to rebut whatever my ex-wifes attorney wrote in the pre-hearing statement. Are the masters in bucks county reasonable people, are most equity distributions fair? Thanks.

You have s chance to submit your own prehearing statement. However, hiring an attorney for this difficult process is the better choice.

Mr. Kuldiner is correct - you really should retain an experienced family law attorney to represent you. He/she will know what to file, what to say, and what to present as documentation. In regard to your question about the fairness of the masters, I can only say that "fair" is all in the eyes of the beholder. They do their jobs well, take everything into account that they should, and issue a report which is what they believe is the correct solution. We have a saying "If both sides are a bit unhappy, then the decision was probably fair."

Yes, you must submit your prehearing statement to the Master by filing it with the Court. I recommend you do this as soon as possible to allow them time to review it. Be sure to provide documentation of everything, especially credit card statements from the date of separation that are in your name. They are reasonable provided they have the documentation available to them to make a decision. You do not have to agree at that level and have the opportunity to file for a de nova hearing if you are unable to reach an agreement.
