15,000. Which didn't cover the total cost of my car and I had to purchase a new car (all within a week of the wreck). I have been to rehab, received MRI, and steroid injections for the back pains and neck pains. I have totaled around 20,000 in medical bills. I work from home so I was still able to work but I did miss a few days. My question is with the above information would it be beneficial to attain a lawyer to receive adequate compensation and how much should I expect from an accident like this?

Yes you should consult a local personal injury attorney immediately. At present it would be impossible to tell you the value of your case. However, some factors which are considered in determining the value of a claim are: 1. Liability 2. Severity of the injury 3. medical expenses 4. lost wages 5. limit of the tortfeasor's insurance policy as well as the limits of your uninsured / underinsured motorist policy. The above list is not exhaustive just an example. Good Luck.

I always recommend obtaining a lawyer for most cases, but especially accidents. There are a lot of nuances in handling injury cases that can't be learned. Expertise is far superior to intuition in matters like yours. Contact a few personal injury attorneys and select one you feel wants to and can truly help you. I suggest getting a lawyer.

Absolutely consult with a qualified personal injury attorney and have him review all of the facts of the accident and your damages. Remember insurance companies are not your friends. They are in the business of making money. They do that by not paying claims.

It is not possible to evaluate a case from a brief summary, but you will definitely come out ahead with an attorney, even after the attorney fee is taken out. You can get a free consultation and the lawyer will take the case on a contingent fee.

If the other driver has a minimum limits policy with $30,000 of coverage for bodily injury, I think there is a reasonable chance the other driver's insurance company would pay that to settle your claim without an attorney. A decent starting point would be to ask the other driver's insurance company if their insured has "anything other than a minimum limits policy." The next step up in coverage from minimum limits of $30,000 is $50,000 of coverage for bodily injury. I do not imagine most automobile insurers would pay $50,000 to settle your claim from the little information you have have provided.

I would certainly recommend that you retain an attorney. There is so much involved in getting your case settled including gathering your medical records and bills, submitting your claim to the proper parties, corresponding and negotiating with any applicable health insurance, negotiating with the healthcare providers, etc.... You should, at least, contact a Dallas area personal injury lawyer and get a free consultation. Then you can get your questions answered and go over all of your options. You've got nothing to lose by consulting.

With those facts and damages, you will get an offer to settle. It will not be what you deserve, unless you have an attorney, because the adjuster does not feel the threat of a lawsuit. That is why you need to seek an attorney, especially when the stakes are as high as they are in your case.

You should absolutely contact a personal injury attorney to advise you of your rights. An attorney will be able to answer your questions regarding compensation.
