Police Brutality In Shelby County AL. I am trying to find out what kind of lawer I need for a friend and if its a waste of time

He was Tazed 4 times by the Harpersville Police Department. They actually started carving the name of the city in hand, put cigarette out on his body. He can not hear out of left ear. Had to be taken to Emergency room because of sickness. Internal Affairs interviewed and took pictures of injuries. He was also Interviewed by the Shelby County Jail. The taze marks and the cigarette burn I seen with my own eyes. The rest I can not verify. He is still being held in the Shelby County Jail. He was semi passed out on side of road after taking klonopin. The police busted the passenger window. Snatched him out of vehicle & beat and tazed him. The police pulled over half way to the jail and jerked him out of the police car and beat and tazed him again because he was laying his head down in the seat.

You need to file a complaint under 42 U.SC. Sec. 1983. Hopefully, you can find an experienced attorney. Our firm has handled many police brutality and Sec. 1983 cases. It may require some factual research pertaining to municipal liability and the various immunities. The federal court does have sample form complaints, but you must be very careful in how and what you allege.
