I did a 2nd lease & only changed the lease date & increased the amount because it showed a lessor amount & the rent payment increased because their mortgage had gone up & we had agreed 2 pay the increase. I signed everyones na& turned it in to obtain rental assistance. The landlord knew about it & asked me 2 do it for a faster turnaround time, since he didn't have access to a scanner & lack of time. He even spoke to the rental place to confirm amounts etc & he sent a notarized statement with the breakdown of rent due. Now because he wants 2 break the lease he served us with a notice 2 vacate which is breaking the year lease because he said I forged the lease agreement & he wasn't aware, which is untrue. Now he's threatening if I don't move out he will press charges. ..I have noconvictios

It depends on who this organization you went to for rental assistance. When the landlord sues for eviction, it will be civil...so no criminal charges. The key will be if you used this lease with a government organization and they catch wind of the alleged forgery and they decide to prosecute. In that case, I hope you have evidence that the landlord agreed.
