You should consult an attorney skilled in handling malicious prosecution and abuse of process cases. You may find that there is no viable libel or slander claim due to privileges in connection with reporting child abuse.
By cps, you apparently mean child protective services. Those complaining to them are immune from defamation claims and criminal false reporting charges unless the complainant KNEW, 100%, that his/her statement was a fabrication. A mistaken belief of abuse based on something the complainant actually saw or heard will likely create immunity, giving you no potential relief. Consult an attorney lawsuits/disputes or defamation, and if the evidence is super strong that the complainant intentionally lied, a criminal false reporting charge must be handled by the police and/or State Attorney's Office.

Reports to the police and to CPS are usually protected forms of speech such that the person making the allegations cannot be sued for defamation. Further, these cases are very difficult to prove and make you keep reliving the statements over and over again. The investigators are very good at discerning between fact and fiction. Thus, you should be fully cooperative and then put it behind you.
