How do I rectify the discrepancy in the birth certificate ?

I applied for the English copy of my birth certificate from India. There is a discrepancy in the date. The officials have written the incorrect date on the certificate. My schools records in India and my passport show the correct date. How do I rectify this ? I will need it for permanent residency purpose.

If you have the non-english original you could just use it with a translation. Alternatively get a corrected englsh version

You don't need the English copy. Merely have a translation agency or anyone fluent in both, English and the language the document is in, translate it for you.
