I am planning to go for an I 140petion, category EB2. Could you give me an estimate about the time frame? PERM and then I-140 petition? I am mostly interested to see how long I have to wait after the PERM.

The PERM will be adjudicated by the Department of Labor (DOL) and the period of time for a decision will vary and can be prolonged if the case is audited by DOL. After the PERM is approved, the employer must file the FORM -140 within 180 days. The period for adjudicating the FORM I-140 will also vary and you can see an estimate of the processing times in the USCIS website. There are multiple variables that can impact the amount of time involved in obtaining the approval of a PERM and the FORM I -140 and a general estimation is difficult to ascertain.

You can find the current processing times on the USCIS website (www.uscis.gov). It is currently taking 4-6 months for I-140s to be adjudicated.

No issues usually up to 6 and if more complicated on PERM issues etc can be as long as required to meet the requests.
