I was recently admitted to a hospital for reasons other than mrsa and contracted it from that hospital. I decided to come to a different hospital die to the fact that the original hospital could not find out what was going on with me to begin with. I have now been in this new hospital where they have surgically removed the infection at first saying it was caused by a pimple. I woke up this morning 12/15/14 to the new from the dr that the infection was mrsa and not just a pimple like the urologist who performed the surgery to remove the infection had told me. What can I do this is now two hospital visits and it is going to ruin me financially with the duration of both my stays. The first visit was for super bad head aches
Thanks for your time
You should contact a local medical malpractice attorney. In these types of cases it's important to order the relevant medical records and have them reviewed for any breach of the standard of care from the provider.
MRSA is a very difficult but to eradicate in hospitals. Liability will be very tough. It sounds like you have serious damages, but you may have a real uphill battle with proving up liability. You need to accumulate your records and have an experienced malpractice attorney review them. Perhaps, if the hospital s infection rate is much higher than others in the area, you may have something. It will be very tough to prove.

Infections typically are known risks, but a local malpractice lawyer can investigate. has a great lawyer finder tool to locate an attorney close to your home. Good luck.
Hospital-acquired infections or nosocomial infections are preventable and avoidable in many circumstances. When a hospital fails to enforce hand hygiene rules or implement necessary infection prevention practices, patients can suffer serious injury. The failure of a doctor, nurse, or hospital to properly prevent, identify, diagnose, and/or treat a hospital-acquired infection is medical malpractice.

I agree you need to speak to an experienced medical malpractice lawyer asap.
Assuming liability (that the hospital was at fault for causing the infection, the problem in your state is the cap on damages.
Lawyers can be reluctant to take cases where the damages are not significant.
Hopefully, you will have a good recovery.
