How do I get a divorce when my husband is in jail?

We have been separated for 4 years. I have had nothing but a hard time finding him, and now he's in jail. We have NOTHING together, no children, no house, no car, nothing! I just need a quick, easy, and simple divorce.

You can go to flcourts.org to get the forms for self-help. I only suggest based on your statement that you two have nothing together. The instructions are all on the forms. Good luck.

Well, on the bright side, at least you know where he is now so you can serve him with the papers. The process for a dissolution proceeding is the same whether the spouse is in jail or not. You have to file the appropriate papers, have them served personally, and then proceed to the final hearing. You should talk to a local family lawyer.
