I'm 6 months pregnant and found out I have a no bail warrant. I haven't violated my probation in anyway. Although I haven't paid for a few months. Can I go in and pay the full amount without having to turn myself in? If not how long will they hold me for?

You're pregnant so why risk jail. Many judges won't use the pregnancy as a mitigating factor because their reasoning is that the jail has fine doctors. So here's what you do. Don't go yourself. Send an attorney. An attorney can appear on your behalf for a misdemeanor. You can't send anyone, it must be an attorney. If an attorney appears then it is less likely that a pair of handcuffs will be placed on you since you are not there. You could benefit from meeting with an attorney to discuss further. Even if you decide not to hire the attorney the consultation with him or her could help you to understand the issues and your options. Many attorneys offer a free consultation. I wish you the best.

Walking in on your own will give you a better chance of staying out of custody. Going with an attorney will be even safer. And missing payments IS a violation of probation. So be ready to own up to that and if you can take the money to catch up the payments that will help!

What can you do? Immediately retain an attorney (criminal defense) in the county that issued the warrant. An attorney can appear on your behalf to clear the warrant--hopefully. Good luck.

Hire an attorney to make the appearance for you and pay your fine. What has happened is that the court has revoked probation. Upon appearance, it can be reinstated either on the same terms and conditions or with additional terms and conditions. Good luck.

Since it's a misdemeanor warrant, an attorney could appear on your behalf to have the warrant recalled. You also have the option of appearing yourself and provide the court with an explanation and plan to catch up on your payments. You should consider consulting with a local attorney by using the "find a lawyer" tab here on . Most will not charge a fee for consultation. Good luck

In Sacramento I have not heard of no bail warrants issued for just missing payments. Missing court...missing DUI school. .. that sort of violation...yes. in any case get a lawyer to put matter on calendar and resolve what is going on

Hire an attorney who can appear 977 and have the warrant recalled. 977 means they can appear without your presence. It's not clear why the warrant was issued. Factswill need to be supplied during your free consultation or two. Pick the lawyer you like, trust and can afford. Good luck. Hope this helps?

You should hire an attorney to make the appearance for you or with you with the check ready. While there is no such legal authority for a Nobel warrant on misdemeanor cases courts continue to unlawfully issue them an attorney can straighten the court out with this small but important fact also if you pay the amount do you most likely will not be in custody there will be no other ramifications

Congratulations on the pregnancy. Remember to see your OBGYN regularly and take the vitamins they prescribe. Very important for development. Especially folic acid and I like fish oil for the brain (but must take care to avoid those products that fail to mention no heavy metals). Ok enough of the baby advice. Re the Court case. You are probably in violation of your probation even though you think otherwise. If you have failed to pay your monthly payments that is all it takes. Any due date or progress missed would do that. You can't just make it right by paying it now. You must see a Judge. Call the court clerk and find out the exact payment that is due in full. Also ask the clerk to confirm why the warrant was issued to determine whether you have any other causes for the warrant/probation violation. Then go to court clerk at 8 am and place your case on calendar. Bring the money! Then when the Judge asks why you failed to make your payments....if true, indicate that due to your pregnancy, and the things you had to buy to prepare for it, and any employment issues which may exist, you were unable to make the payments. Then tell him/her that you have the money in full. THey probably will not additionally punish you over it. If you are fearful about going it alone, hire one of the attorneys on this site to speak for you and investigate the violation.

You need to get an attorney or contact the attorney that represented you in the case. It may be something minor or could be an alleged violation. Don't delay, act ASAP.
