No other arrests, no other legal trouble. I would just like to have an idea of what is most often sentenced, not the max sentence of $500 and 12 months in jail. Also an idea of how much hiring a lawyer for it would cost, and if it would be necessary to get one for this charge.

You can probably get diversion and keep it off your record if it can't be beaten outright. Our firm charges $500 to handle those cases in Mobile.

It depends on the Judge and what his normal sentence is. I would recommend trying Pre Trial diversion first to keep it off your record. Generally you would be looking at a 6 month to 12 month sentence suspended with probation.
