Changing status from F1 to B2 while OPT is almost expiring

I'm currently on OPT after graduating from a community college. However, my work authorization expires soon. Since I would like travel in the United States before I return to my home country (I will need more than 60 days=grace period), I'm preparing to apply for change of status from F1 to B2. I have contacted a couple of attornys and asked for basic advice. I was told it won't be so complicated. However, I found very little detailed information online. So I'm basically just following what uscis requires me to submit along with some supporting documents. I would like a list of documents that should be submitted. Since I don't have so much time left, I'm looking to e-file the form and send out the rest of the supporting documents by mail. As for the supporting documents, I'm going to include a written statement explaining why I am requesting to change my status (this is required), I-94 (this is required), my bank statement, possibly a copy of my health insurance in my home country with translation, a copy of return air ticket to my home country after approx. 6 months. Any advices will be greatly apperaciated. By the way, as for my I-94, do I subnmit the originalI? or may I just send the copy? If I am submitting the original I-94, is it really ok to take off the staple on the passport?

I think what most attorneys are saying is not that the process is complicated, it is the approval rate on such visas. I do not recall having seen any of B2 visas approved inside the US unless for extensions of the same visa. Do not send any originals, and keep a good copy of what you send to USCIS. But good luck.
